There are a bunch of specialty dating sites as well. You can browse the categories to the left to get an idea.
2) Put effort into your profile.
“Hi. I never thought I would do this, but I figured what the heck. I like movies, reading, and traveling. If you’re interested send me a message.”
That, my friend, is not how you create an online dating profile.
Your profile should convey two things:
One, highlight your main attributes while being as brief as you can. No need to tell your whole life story at this point, but give a few details about you.
“I’m usually the life of the party” or “I tend to be shy but I warm up quickly.”
If you like movies, say what kind.
If you read, what is your favorite type of book?
How often do you travel? And what kind of vacations do you enjoy?
What is your favorite type of food?
Two, you have to define what you’re looking for.
“I’m looking for a long term relationship.” This will limit the messages you get from booty call seekers.
What qualities should your match have?
How far should they live from you?
Double check your spelling and grammar. Sounds like common sense, but I have read many profiles with plenty of misspelled words. We all make mistakes, but make sure to spell check.
Last but not least, don’t think too hard! It’s simple – just type as if you’re talking to a close friend. You’re simply describing yourself, not writing a thesis.
