3) Display recent, quality pictures.
It’s no secret that pictures are the first thing we notice at dating sites. Most people look right past profiles that don’t include a picture.
You should upload multiple recent pictures. I cannot understand for the life of me why people post fake or out-dated pictures.
If you meet someone in person, do you think he or she will just accept that your pictures don’t match the real thing?
If you post pictures with other people in them, make sure you upload some of you by yourself.
Professionally done pictures are ok (as long as they’re not altered of course). However, you should post some non-professional pictures as well.
Also, make sure your pictures are clear. Blurry pictures make it look like you’re trying to hide something.
4) Don’t lie.
Many lies or half truths are told online to gain peoples interest. This makes absolutely no sense.
Think about it – if you start getting serious with someone, it’s only a matter of time before your little (or big) white lies come back to bite you.
Post real, recent pictures of you.
Don’t lie about your income.
Don’t lie about your job.
Just don’t lie.
5) Personalize your messages.
“Hi, I like your profile. If you like mine, write back.”
You’re not going to get a very high response rate sending boring emails like that.
First of all, spice up the headline of the messages that you send. This will increase the chances of people clicking through to read what you have to say.
Sending messages is one thing. Enticing men or women to open and read them is another.
Instead of opening with “Hello”, say something like “We have a few things in common.”
He or she will be curious to find out what you have in common.
Compliments work well too ("I love your smile" or "You’re very funny" or “I admire your ambition”).
In the body of your message, try pointing out two or three things that you feel you have in common based on their words.
Ask a couple of questions. “I noticed that you like to travel. What’s your favorite place?” or “What is your dream vacation spot?”
Don’t forget to double check your spelling!
